Where OET is accepted: the verified table
Most "OET accepted countries" lists online are stale or vague. This table states the requirement per regulator, notes the rules that differ (combining, Writing concessions, delivery modes), and was verified against official sources in July 2026.

Three patterns worth noticing
- The Writing concession went different ways — for nurses. The UK NMC and NZ NCNZ accept C+ in Writing; Ireland’s NMBI lets the C+ fall in any one sub-test; the US inverts it entirely — Speaking carries the B while everything else needs C+. Australia’s concession ended for tests taken on or after 23 April 2026. Doctors face a stricter picture: the GMC, Irish Medical Council, CPSO and SMC all want straight Bs.
- Combining rules decide retake strategy. NMC, Ahpra, MCNZ and NCNZ allow two sittings; GMC, ECFMG, the Irish regulators and most of Canada demand one. Know which game you're playing before you book.
- Speaking at Grade B is nearly constant. Every regulator in these tables except Ireland’s NMBI demands at least 350 in Speaking (Australia now 360) — the role-play is the sub-test almost no destination lets you soften, and the one hardest to practise alone. That’s the problem OEZ exists to solve.
Before you book: registration requirements change, and each individual regulator has the final word. This page is kept current (last verified July 2026), but always confirm the live requirement on the regulator's own site before booking a test date.
